For the third year in a row, we have the privilege of carrying out the wonderful 'Ticket to School' project thanks to the financial support of the AFAS Foundation. This project brings so much joy, as more than 1,500 children from 'our' schools in the Kilifi region receive a free (mandatory) school uniform. Additionally, we will provide extra support to a sewing workshop with equipment and training costs for aspiring seamstresses. It requires tight organization from our team in Kilifi to take measurements from all the children, purchase the fabrics and other materials, and select the seamstresses who will be commissioned for this project. We can’t wait to see the joy on the faces of everyone who benefits from this project in the local community. The impact of this project is far greater than just the number of school uniforms. It creates jobs, and therefore income, relieves poor parents, reflects positively on the schools, and last but not least: all children are equal.
