FULL Training

The Content of Our FULL Training (Donor: Stichting van Well van der Snoek)

The content of our FULL training has been carefully designed to develop the skills of young people. The themes are aligned with the immediate challenges and opportunities faced by youth in the Kilifi region.

1. Finding a Job or Starting as an Entrepreneur
Young people learn how to find and keep a job. They practice preparing for job interviews and presenting themselves professionally. We also clearly explain that pursuing a future in a distant foreign country often leads to major disappointment. The young people report that countries such as the UAE, in particular, recruit women for domestic work.

2. Social Skills
The program also includes training in social skills such as customer service, professional conduct, communication, and workplace attitude. These skills are crucial for employment!

3. Mental Health and Self-Awareness
We create a safe space where young people can learn to deal with stress, insecurity, and setbacks. Topics such as self-image, setting boundaries, and resilience are explored through practical exercises and group discussions.

4. Personal Growth and Development
Young people are encouraged to reflect on their talents and dreams. They learn how to set goals, make decisions, and take responsibility for their own path.

5. Financial Skills
Many young people have never been taught how to manage money. That’s why, in the FULL training, they learn how to create a budget and make conscious financial decisions. In a region where poverty is often the norm and people live day to day, learning to budget is especially important.

Impact and Outlook
The initial responses from participants are quite impressive. Young people feel seen, heard, and motivated. It gives them a sense of hope and opportunity. Some are speaking about their dreams for the first time in their lives. Others are already taking small steps toward entrepreneurship or further education. Some have received a scholarship or paid training through our organization.

The Learn! Foundation believes that education and guidance are the keys to structural change. With the FULL program, we bring this vision to life – together with the young people who need it most.
