What an amazing trip it was again.
Our chairman had many meetings with:
our local team in Kilifi, in particular with Jackline Jumbe, our executive director.
education organizations
students (from Lamento, Youth Care, and AFAS)
parents of young people who received a scholarship through us
the head of Makonjemare School (now with over 360 students)
three sewing workshops (fundi’s) recently started by former students
two workshops making school uniforms for the AFAS “Ticket to School” project
students who finished their training and now work as independent fundi’s (like self-employed workers)
vocational training schools (Madzoo and Sokoni)
impressive home visits
and many kind people who work with our organization
What a big group it has become! This really shows us how much impact we have on the local communities. We are truly making a visible difference in their lives.
Also, the gifts we brought from AFAS Foundation, Rob Optiek, and Tandartsenpraktijk Friese Meren were priceless.
Our team was so happy with a few new laptops, the children with their own toothbrushes, and some students and drivers with sunglasses...
We can only partly understand how important these gifts are to them.
