FULL trainings

For our chairperson it was a real eye-opener to attend a few FULL trainings. (Functional literacy and lifeskills (FULL). Building strong foundations for succes. Empowering people with skills and knowledge they need for work and life.

These trainings have a big impact on the students. During one session, a university lecturer spoke to the young people. She explained how important it is to stay focused on education in Kenya, and that gaining new insights can improve their chances on the job market. This made a strong impression on them.

Our chairperson attended two trainings:

  • one on time management (prepared and taught by Ann)

  • one on inner beliefs (taught by executive Jacque).

In both trainings, the students participated actively. For some it is still difficult to share their own opinion or vision out loud in a group, but they made the effort.

All trainings were held on-site, namely at Sokoni Vocational Centre and Madzoo Vocational Centre – both located in Kilifi Town.
A Vocational Centre can be compared to entry-level vocational education, similar to basic MBO in the Netherlands.
