It is a joy to meet our students, catch up with them, and hear directly from them about the challenges they face. Very often, their extremely poor backgrounds play a role in their stories. But there is also immense gratitude for being “among the lucky ones to receive a scholarship,” as several students expressed.
We run several programs:
AFAS Foundation students – vocational training at MBO level in tailoring.
Lamento students – vocational training at MBO level in driving, welding, plumbing, electrician work, hairdressing, teaching, and nursing.
Youth Care students – vocational training at MBO level, same as those listed in point 2.
Learn! Foundation students – university-level and HBO teacher training.
A scholarship is also a “Ticket to School” – a chance to enter the job market and provide for oneself.
