For the last time, together with the Afas Foundation, we are able to continue the Ticket to School project. The children at Makonjemare Comprehensive and Mbwana Comprehensive Schools are especially thrilled about this. This project provides a free school uniform, lifting the financial burden from their parents or guardians.
As part of the same project, we also awarded 10 scholarships to aspiring seamstresses at Madzoo Vocational Training Centre in Kilifi. We were able to tell them that they have been assigned to make 200 school uniforms. It’s a win-win situation: the trainee seamstresses gain valuable hands-on experience, and the schools will receive hundreds of uniforms.
Additionally, within the framework of this Ticket to School project, we were able to award 10 student scholarships. At Madzoo VT, the names of the students who had been selected for a scholarship were announced. They could hardly believe it when their names were called…
Of course, the Giriama Tailoring Centre is also part of this project again. They, too, were assigned to produce 200 school uniforms, providing a fantastic learning experience for the new group of trainees in this sewing program.
