In business

One of our students we are especially proud of is Lennox. Life hasn’t been easy for him. After becoming disabled due to cancer, his chances of finding a job became even smaller. That’s why we are so happy to share that Lennox has now taken a bold step and opened his own small barbershop as an independent fundi.

Of course, it takes time before customers find their way, so we gave him a little head start. Jackline was the very first to take a seat in his chair, we sponsored a haircut for someone else, and even our tuk-tuk driver made a special trip to be styled by him. The beginning is there, and it’s promising.

Lennox is also standing out because of his talent. On top of running his barbershop, he now volunteers as a trainer at Sokoni Vocational Centre, passing on his skills to others. We couldn’t be prouder of Lennox!

We’ve already been able to buy him a clipper, but for now he still has to work with an ordinary kitchen pair of scissors and a few improvised tools. There is an urgent need for proper barber equipment!
So if you have anything that can be taken along to his shop in Kilifi Kenya, it would be greatly appreciated. Not only for Lennox, but also for the Sokoni Vocational Centre, which currently has hardly any training materials.

Donations are welcome. Every single Ksh will go directly to him. Mpesa 720960365 Jackline Jumbe (with a note “for Lennox”)
