Schools are open!

The summer holidays are over. We have not been idle and are busy adding all kinds of programs to our Learn! Center in Kilifi. Our name is becoming more and more known. More and more young people / young adults know where to find us. The call for scholarships in particular is becoming louder. In our opinion, giving young people a chance at education, including primary, secondary and higher vocational and university education, is the most important thing. We do this by:

  1. to provide grants/scholarships to young people from (extremely) poor backgrounds
  2. through our 'ticket to school' project (school uniforms for primary school children)
  3. activities in our Learn! Centre: computer training, tutoring, life skills training
  4. supporting vocational training
  5. to talk to local communities > what is needed?
  6. networking with education officers / local authorities / government
  7. guiding and encouraging young people through counseling conversations
  8. continue to support 'our' primary schools such as Makonjemare, Mbwana.
  9. to collaborate with local organizations, schools, communities

Raising funds / raising the money to continue to do our work properly remains a challenge. LF Nederland works 100% voluntarily. Our office in Kilifi works with paid employees and volunteers who receive an expense allowance. Paying the fixed costs every year so that the Kilifi office can continue to run is actually a project in itself. The employment, brand awareness and help that we can offer there are priceless and of great value.

YOUR SUPPORT IS MORE THAN WELCOME!
