CBF

Last month we had contact with the CBF (Central Fundraising Office) about two matters: our annual accounts and our board composition.
We would like to inform you about the comments the CBF had.

Annual accounts

Fortunately, the figures were not doubted, but we were short of an additional audit statement. That's how it is. Our treasurer prepares the annual accounts according to Partin's format. This is then submitted for inspection to our external auditor (Ian Mulder) who checks the figures. That happened. But, as it turns out, there should also be a second external controller. Fortunately, we found it and were able to send the CBF the required statement. Thanks to CBF for their care and to our controller G. de Roij, former accountant and group controller, for his voluntary efforts.

Board composition

In short, it means that married people should never have a majority in the board. Quite logical. We have therefore decided that Paul Vink will resign with effect from September 1, 2024. We have found our ambassador, Mr Sjouke Schilstra, willing to take over his task. He didn't hesitate for a moment and immediately offered to take a seat. Sjouke is an ambassador for years and has already traveled to Kilifi three times together with his partner to visit our projects. He is a fundraiser par excellence and always sees opportunities to inspire people for our foundation. We are therefore incredibly happy with his arrival as a board member.
