When the chairman of the Learn! Foundation, Ingrid Vink, asked me to take a seat on the board, I didn't hesitate for a moment. For years I have seen, not only from the sidelines, but also in Kenya, how valuable the work is. There are so many children, young people and young adults who are so poor that they really cannot afford an education. I think it's great that there is an organization that stands up for these young people.
My wife and I have already been to Kenya three times to visit the projects. See with your own eyes what is being done. The first time was the most overwhelming. I still remember the reception at the Makonjemare school as if it were yesterday. Since then I have only seen the foundation grow. I am happy that I can be part of the board from September 1, 2024.
