Our board

The CBF rightly pointed out the following to us: partners/married persons cannot have a majority on the board. Quite logical actually. We have therefore decided that Paul Vink (partner of our chairman) will resign. He remains involved as an ambassador on the sidelines, but without authority/voting rights.

The CBF gave us until December 31, 2024 to find a new board member. Well, we didn't need that much time, because our new board member Sjouke Schilstra immediately said 'yes' when we asked him to join our board. Sjouke has been a great ambassador of our foundation for years and feels very committed. He has already made the trip to Kenya with us three times and knows our local organization and its employees. He is also known at our schools and organizations that we work with.

In addition, he is a fundraiser par excellence with his restaurant in Woudsend, Friesland. He has already organized a fantastic benefit evening for our foundation twice. His partner Maya Portmann also feels closely involved in our work and will continue to help as an ambassador.

We can therefore proudly announce that Sjouke has joined as a board member with effect from 01 September 2024.
